Lawrence Residents: Be a Work of Art!
Lawrence Residents: Be a Work of Art!
As part of my work as President of the Lawrence Redevelopment Commission, we've recently partnered with the Herron School of Art & Design at Indiana University to commission a piece of public art for one of the most traveled intersections in Lawrence/NE Indianapolis.
The art is a large "face" that will be built with many smaller, "faces of the community."

We're looking for
volunteers to participate in the newest piece of public art coming to
Lawrence!
On
Saturday, June 23rd and Saturday, June 30th, Herron graduate student, Matthew
Boeing will be "molding faces" of community members to incorporate
into his sculpture design - Collective Coherence.
Volunteers
can register for a time slot to have their face molded at www.lawrenceartcenter.net.
The website also offers more information about the sculpture design and
the molding process. Matthew will be working at the Lawrence Art Center,
4437 N. Franklin Rd. We have reservation spots for 6 volunteers per hour
and will do our best to stay on schedule. Walk-ins are welcome but we
can't guarantee participation in the molding process without a reservation.
So, please pass this news along to your neighbors and fellow community
members, and thank you for helping us get the word out!
